Legend of Olympus, which was released around May 2013, is an Olympians gods-themed online game trademarked by the Austrian gaming software developer Rabcat Gambling. Legend of Olympus is a Microgaming Quickfire-powered game, alongside Rabcat’s other Olympus-branded August 2011 slot called Mount Olympus. Play’n GO’s Rise of Olympus and Spin Games-owned Shadows of Olympus are among its rival games.
The name “Legend of Olympus” is a translation of the Greek words “Legendele Olimpului”, which is also the title (and slot game adaptation) of Romanian children’s author Alexander Mitru’s Greek myth-based 1960 book. To win, Legend of Olympus players match two, three, four, or five mythical artifacts and character symbols.
Legend of Olympus Game Characteristics
Legend of Olympus, a desktop only three-part game (main game, bonus game, and red/black gamble), has a 5X3 grid, wherein it is a make or break for its 20 adjustable pay lines.
First, the Legend of Olympus symbols have five objects: a spear-tip; an engraved golden wine glass; a silver helmet (associated with god Hermes) with two flapping wings; a round golden shield; and a golden god Zeus’ “Bonus” coin.
Second, Legend of Olympus symbols consist of five of the Olympus gods: Hephaestus, a bare-chested metalworking-oriented god shown carrying a hammer shoulder-high; love goddess Aphrodite who is dressed in white; Ares, the war god with a spear and wearing a Trojan war helmet; god Zeus (symbols named “free spin” should be over three to trigger it) who commands lighting, and is the brand face; and the underworld god Hades (Wild) at the bottom right of the interface.
The Legend of Olympus interface lets players set: between one and all twenty pay lines using the left or right signs on either side of the “lines” earthen pot; and the bet size using the left or right signs at bottom right, below god Hades.
The Legend of Olympus bet values are $0.01, $0.02, $0.05, $0.10, $0.20, $0.25, $0.50, and $1.00, which are multiplied by the number of active lines to get the total bet per round. For instance, the smallest $0.01 bet value on a single line equals the $0.01 minimum bet; highest $2.00 bet value on the twenty lines equals the $40.00 maximum bet.
The payouts do self-adjust depending with the set total bets. For instance, the$40.00 bet amount yields these Legend of Olympus payouts for two, three, four, and five matching symbols, respectively. The spear-tip gives $4.00, $6.00, $10.00, and $20.00. The wine glass pays $4.00, $8.00, $20.00, and $100.00. The winged helmet pays $6.00, $10.00, $50.00, and $150.00. The shield offers $10.00, $14.00, $100.00, and $200.00; and god Hades offers $10.00, $400.00, $4000.00, and $40,000.00.
The gods’ payouts for three, four, or five combinations are: god Hephaestus offers $20.00, $100.00, and $500.00; goddess Aphrodite pays $30.00, $200.00, and $1000.00; god Ares pays $50.00, $400.00, and $2000.00; and god Zeus pays $400.00, $4000.00, and $40000.00.
After crossing River Styx by stopping three flipping coins and getting the heads up, opening the three golden “bonus” treasure boxes offers: three matches give $200.00, $400.00, or $2000.00; four matches offer $400.00, $800.00, or $4000.00; and five matches have $800.00, $2000.00, or $20000.00.
The Legend of Olympus software and sound effects are good; the impressive realistic 3D graphics notably include the beard-stroking Zeus who points at the nervous Hades before a bolt of lightning strikes him, the erupting Mount Olympus in the background, Hades’ lightning strike head scars, the winking female warrior, the wine-gulping character, the beckoning angels of death on River Styx, and the unmistakable real-life Parthenon ruins onto which the interface is embedded.
