Starstruck

When Nolimit City released Starstruck video slot on March 27, 2019, the games developer banked on slot players’ familiarity with the classic symbolism coupled with its eye-catching graphics. Nolimit City has three other suchlike video slots, namely: Casino Win Spin (January 2018), Hot 4 Cash (August 2019), and Fruits (January 2019). Some of its rival slot games include Super 12 Stars (May 2019) from Red Rake Gaming, Arcade (February 2013) from Wazdan, and 7UP! (June 2017) from Endorphina.

The slot’s title “Starstruck” is borrowed from a similarly named bonus-related cell at the center of the grid. Nine symbols (“X WILD” win multiplier, diamond, watermelon, triple BAR, double BAR, single BAR, spades suit, hearts suit, and clubs suit) require three winning combinations.

Starstruck Game Characteristics

Starstruck has a round cornered, double-framed—a purple-and-blue frame within a silver frame—and partitioned cream 3X3 grid whose five fixed paylines (forward slash-like, backslash-like, and across the top, middle and bottom of the grid) are numbered on the right and left margins. There are ten symbols, 14 total bets, a bonus game, no free games, two special features, nudged “Bonus” symbol, self-multiplying wilds, three win multipliers, fifteen bet multipliers, and regularly pays from $0.01 to $1500.

Starstruck has two special symbols and eight ordinary symbols. Special symbols: the high-paying wild-and-substitute is a white-dotted red-framed yellow-and-blue “X WILD”; and bonus round-unlocking feature is a glossy and sparkling golden-purple “Bonus” star.

The ordinary symbols comprise of: two high-paying symbols; and six mid-paying symbols, excluding a lowly BAR-oriented consolation payout. The gold-lined high-paying symbols: a brilliant cut blue diamond; and a quarter of a watermelon.

The mid-paying symbols consist of three silvery “BAR” types and three playing card suits: a triple BAR; a double BAR; a single BAR; a gray-lined red spades suit; a gray-lined green hearts suit; and a gray-lined orange clubs suit.

The Starstruck bet sizes: $0.05 (minimum bet), $0.10, $0.20, $0.50, $1.00, $2.00, $5.00, $10.00, $15.00, $20.00, $30.00, $40.00, $50.00, and $100.00 (maximum bet).

Each bet has its own set of payouts for three winning combinations. For instance, the $100 bet attracts these Starstruck payouts. “X WILD”, or diamond pays $1500.00. Watermelon pays $1000.00. Triple BAR pays $500.00. Double BAR pays $400.00. Single BAR pays $300.00. A winning combination resulting from a mixture of triple BAR, double BAR and/or single BAR pays $20.00. Spades suit, or hearts suit, or clubs suit pays $200.00.

The “X WILD” symbol can either subject the very winning combinations it substitutes to X2/X3/X5 win multipliers. In some cases, the “X WILD” can be stacked in twos and/or threes and be aligned in such a way that its various win multipliers self-multiply—this can offer the high “starstruck” payouts that segue into higher “supernova” payouts that then segue into the highest “big bang!” payouts.

In every spin, there is a possibility of the “Bonus” feature being shoved into the vague outline of a star at the center of reel two, thereby unlocking the Starstruck bonus round. Thus, the eight colorful stars that appear and align themselves around the main “Bonus” feature will flip to show their respective bet multipliers that are selected at random from the following pool—X5 (minimum), X10, X15, X20, X25, X30, X50, X60, X75, X100, X200, X250, X300, X500, and X1000 (maximum). Starstruck’s simulated non-progressive jackpot is X1635, which ($100X1635) is theoretically $163,500.00.

Starstruck has good software, especially fitted with: game history, right/left-hand modes, turbo mode, and 10/25/50/100/250/1000 autospins whose settings can be preset to stop after certain win limits or not less that 75% balance decrease and up to 500% balance increase.

There are classic slot machine sounds interspersed with babbling slot players and whirring slots. The colorful 3D graphics are animated, including: sparkle and ripple effect, glowing symbols, luminous explosions, and gushing golden, silver and brass coins.
