Shave The Sheep

Shave The Sheep, which was launched on July 23, 2020, is a sheep shearing-inspired scratch card game from Hacksaw Gaming. One of the twelve Chinese zodiacal animals—2015 and 2027 (+/- 12 years) are some of the Years of the Sheep—the affectionate sheep is associated with the Chinese cosmological element named Yin.
Shave The Sheep is the second game in Hacksaw Gaming’s two-game Shave series whose first game is Shave The Beard (August 2019). Rat Riches (July 2020) is another Chinese zodiac-inspired lottery game from Hacksaw Gaming whose portfolio also includes three Feng Shui-themed scratch card games, namely Frogs Scratch (April 2020), Koi Cash (January 2020), and Gold Coins (March 2020).

Shave The Sheep’s rival games include Cashapillar Scratch Card (August 2014) from Microgaming, Rainbow Rewards Scratch (April 2019) from CR Games, and Si-Xiang Scratch Game (May 2018) from Pragmatic Play. The players are required to scratch the lottery ticket and match any three of its sixteen numbers.

Shave The Sheep Game Characteristics

Shave The Sheep has a non-partitioned 3X3 grid that is set on a caricature of a woolly white-and-black sheep’s belly. The belly of the sheep, which is positioned on its ramp and ready for shearing, is marked with nine sky blue circles. It pays from $1.00 to $150000.00.

Shave The Sheep has a single bet size: $2.00. A player attempts to unveil one of the following Shave The Sheep’s numbers—they are the payouts too: $1.00, $2.00, $5.00, $10.00, $25.00, $50.00, $100.00, $500.00, $1000.00, $2500.00, $5000.00, $7500.00, $10000.00, $25000.00, $50000.00, and $150000.00.

Upon loading, the Shave The Sheep game shows a turquoise “$2” lottery ticket. On the one hand, the player can opt to manually scratch the ticket. If using a mobile device, the player repeatedly rubs the sheep’s belly, which gradually unveils a baby pink grid with black scalloped edges. In the desktop version, a gray “$” rubber that pops up facilitates the belly rub.

On the other hand, the player can press “scratch all” to automate the belly rub, which reveals the grid in one fell swoop. The matching numbers are highlighted in green. Three matching $150000.00 figures are the Shave the Sheep’s non-progressive jackpot.

Shave The Sheep has relatively fewer interactive buttons. The white hamburger menu at the bottom left has mute/unmute “sound”, “info”, and “home” icons. “Match 3 to win”, “place your bets”, “good luck!”, “start scratching”, “you won…congratulations”, and “play again!” prompts accompany the green-and-white “scratch all” and “buy” buttons.

Automated spins: using the “A” button, players can choose one of the seven batches of 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 500, or 1000 autospins. The loss limit is X5 bet, 20X bet, 50X bet, limitless, or a preset amount. The single win limit is X10 bet, X20 bet, X75 bet, limitless, or a preset amount.

Shave The Sheep has screaking, scratching, chinking, and jingling sound effects. The 2D graphics are not animated. However, scratching the UV coating off the ticket seems like shearing the sheep’s belly.
