Wunderfest (September 2017) is a Volksfest-themed Internet casino game from Booming Games. A volksfest is an alcohol-oriented festival that originated from Germany.

This game is inspired by Oktoberfest, a famous annual beer drinking-festival that Germans celebrate between the months of September and October. Wunderfest is the original version of Wunderfest Deluxe (Booming Games, September 2018). Bier Haus by WMS, Oktoberfest from Cryptologic, Beer Fest from Everi, and Oktoberfest Spins from Random Logic are Wunderfest’s rivals.

The game’s name “Wunderfest” is a combination of two words–wunder and festival. A German word, the noun “wunder” means wonderful; the noun “festival” has been shortened to “fest”. Collectively, “wunderfest” means a wonderful festival.

The winning combinations of Wunderfest symbols are divided into two: one group comprises of three symbols that require two, three, four, or five matching symbols; and the other group consists of seven symbols that require three, four, or five matching symbols.

The good Wunderfest software lacks the usual 2-Way Pay and Gamble features, although there are expanding symbols. The graphics are captivating, ranging from the barrels beside the house-lined street to the realistic animated symbols. The volkslieder-style (folk) music and the chattering sound effect (of the drunk festival attendants) are interesting.
