Birds! is an avian html5 video slot that developer Betsoft launched on May 2, 2016. Themes: personification, utility pole, bird vocalization, and bird show. Betsoft-owned 4 Seasons (February 2016) is relatable. Birds!’s rival games include Birds on a Wire (April 2014) from Thunderkick, Crazy Birds (January 2018) from Greentube, and Feathered Frenzy (August 2013) from Big Time Gaming.
Ten symbols (tufted bird, red bird, orange bird, golden bird, green bird, purple bird, pink bird, blue bird, gray bird, and off-white bird) require 3+ exclusively horizontal and/or vertical matching clusters.

Birds! Game Characteristics
Birds! is a non-payline, non-partitioned, and frameless slot game. Its translucent 5X3 grid is set on two three-wire telephone poles, overlooking—depending on the game feature—a lush and hilly rural sunflower farm, or a suburb, or a recreational park.

There are thirteen symbols, including eleven birds that amble along the telephone wires; locked and cascading birds, eleven coin denominations, five bet amounts, 55 total bets, no bonus game, retriggerable free games, a side game, and pays between $2.00 and $500.00 per bird.

Birds! has three special symbols and ten ordinary symbols. Special symbols: the substituting wild is a multicolored bird; the free games-triggering feature is a four-segment glass tube, with a bird nest atop it and fastened to the left telephone pole (along the bottom in mobile versions); and a golden coin for the side game.

Ordinary symbols: a purple-eyed golden tufted bird; a cap-wearing yellow-eyed policing red bird; a baseball-playing blue-eyed orange bird; green-eyed golden bird in a red bow tie; a bespectacled blue-eyed green bird; a crippled blue-eyed purple bird; a blue-eyed pink bird with pigtails; a headphones-wearing blue bird; a purple-eyed gray bird; and a dozing off-white bird.

The Birds! coin denominations: $0.01, $0.02, $0.03, $0.04, $0.05, $0.10, $0.15, $0.20, $0.25, $0.50, and $1.00. Bet amounts: $25.00, $50.00, $75.00, $100.00, and $125.00. Minimum bet: $0.25. Maximum bet: $125.00.

The $125.00 bet offers these Birds! payouts, per bird, for 3+ clustered winning combinations. Tufted bird pays $500.00. Red bird pays $125.00. Orange bird pays $100.00. Golden bird pays $75.00. Green bird pays $40.00. Purple bird pays $20.00. Pink bird, or blue bird pays $15.00. Gray bird, or off-white bird pays $10.00.

Each winning combination fills one segment of the glass tube. Four back-to-back winning combinations—winless spins in between reset it—fill up the glass tube, thereby explosively toppling the egg.

Thereafter, a somersaulting tufted bird hatches, prompting the grid to change from an urban to a rural setting or vice versa—this offers eight free games. Similarly, five back-to-back winning birds offer twelve free games; six successive wins offer 20 free games; and 7+ successive wins offer 14 free games plus the 7+ wins. In winless spins, all birds take off. The winning clusters of birds take off, leaving locked birds—previously drawn birds fill up the empty spaces below them before new birds are drawn.

Winning clusters activate the “2X Double Up” icon that loads a win-nullifying or win-doubling side game, where players risk half or all collectible winnings while attempting to predict heads (bird) or tails (utility pole). Birds!’s non-progressive jackpot is $830000.00.

The good Birds! software features: desktop and mobile versions; quick spin; and 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, and 100 autospins. Ambient background: classic music. Sound effects: chirping, chinking, bubbling, and whooshing. The cinematic 3D graphics include: capillarity; gushing coins; glitter effect; and dancing, hatching, flipping, hopping, ambling, saluting, fluttering, book-reading, ball-throwing, juggling, perching, taking off, and somersaulting birds.
