Red Dragon

Red Dragon, released in July 2015, is a mythology-inspired video slot game from 1X2 Gaming. Feng Shui ideology, Chinese characters, architectural design, ancient scrolls, Chinese martial arts, and dressing sense are among the themes. Si Xiang (June 2018) is another dragon-themed slot from 1X2 Gaming. Rival games include Dragon Sword (January 2009) from Stars Group, Dragon Palace (August 2016) from Lightning Box Games, and Draco’s Fire (January 2011) from Stars Group.

Red Dragon is a slot game adaptation of the fire dragon that, in Chinese mythology, symbolizes power over weather elements and is synonymous with good luck. Three symbols lack regular payouts; however, the other nine symbols require three, four, or five matching symbols to trigger their respective bet multipliers.

Red Dragon Game Characteristics
Red Dragon has 5X3 grid, bonus rounds, up to 30 free games, 25 adjustable pay lines, and X2 win multiplier. There are twelve Red Dragon symbols, consisting of three special symbols and nine ordinary symbols. The special symbols: the scatter is a red-framed pagoda with blue wisps of smoke; a coiled up red dragon with yellow legs and surrounded by blue wisps of smoke that unlocks the bonus round; and the Wild/substitute a white-haired martial arts master in yellow-and-black and executing a Karate move.

The ordinary symbols are: a black J on a cream scroll, a red Q on a scroll, a blue K on a scroll, a brown A on a scroll, sushi atop cherry blossom, an Asian conical hat on pink cherry blossom, silver-handled black-and-red nunchucks (martial arts sticks) on cherry blossom, a gold-handled blue hand fan on cherry blossom, and a Chinese lantern on cherry blossom.

When the Red Dragon software loads, it prompts players to “Go full screen”, whereby they click the red checkmark or “X”. These are the Red Dragon coin values: $0.01, $0.02, $0.05, $0.10, $0.20, and $0.50. There are five coins (bet levels). Accessed via the bottom left icon, the value, coins, and lines are beside each another; players press “GO” after choosing their bet sizes. Red Dragon’s minimum bet amount is $0.01 while the maximum bet amount is $62.50.

These are the Red Dragon payouts for three, four, or five winning combinations, respectively. Either J, or Q pays X10, X70, and X300. Either K, or A pays X15, X150, and X400. The sushi pays X20, X200, and X500. The Asian conical hat pays X20, X200, and X550. The nunchucks pays X40, X260, and X600. The hand fan pays X40, X280, and X650. The Chinese lantern pays X50, X300, and X700.

Three pagodas offer ten free games, four pagodas offer 20 free games, and five pagodas offer 30 free games. More than three “Bonus” red dragons unlock the bonus round, which is a gateway to bigger payouts. Luckily, the symbols that match during the free games mode are subject to the X2 win multiplier.

The Red Dragon software is good, and the ambient instrumentals are oriental. The animated symbols are awesome, including the opening scrolls, bouncing sushi, flapping hand fan, and showy martial arts master.
