The aim of the game is for the player to accumulate a total closer to 21 on his hand than the dealer has without going over 21 (busting). Blackjack Classic uses one standard size deck of 52 cards, with the jokers removed.

The game begins when the player places their bet. The dealer hands two cards each to the player and to himself. One of the dealer’s card is face down so that neither he nor the player can see it. This is referred to as the hole card. The player’s cards are both dealt face down. When the player sees the dealer’s face up card, he or she can make his next move based on his or her own cards. An insurance bet is offered to the player if the dealer’s face up card is an ace. The bet is worth half the main bet and pays off at 2:1 if the dealer reveals a ten-valued card on his hole card, which effectively gives him a blackjack. If the dealer does not have a blackjack, the insurance bet is lost, but the main bet remains active.

The player is allowed to split like pairs up to three times for a total of four pairs. They can also double down after splitting. If the split pair is an ace, any of the resulting pairs that adds up to 21 is not considered a blackjack, and any hand that forms in this way has to stand. The dealer has to hit on all 16s and stand on all hard 17s. In the American Rules version of the game, the player may double down on any two initial cards.

Game Review

The game allows bets between 2 and 500 in different respective denominations. Since this game follows standard blackjack rules, the house edge is among the lowest, giving players some very attractive winning chances.
