USA Poker Review

For archival purposes, here is a review of USA Poker that we wrote on January 19, 2006.

USA Poker is on the IPoker network, with the standard 100% to $500 bonus offered by other sites on the same network, with very little in the way of special promotions for starting players, although they do feature many freeroll options.

What is interesting is that VIP Club members get a lot of special perks, including special bonus, freerolls, eligible for the progressive hand jackpots and the chance to take on Marc Goodwin in a $1,000 heads up challenge. If you’re looking for a site on the IPoker Network where you’ll play often, USA Poker might be the one for you.

Promotions: 100% to $500, $60 refer-a-friend bonus, special bonus SNGs. $1000 headsup challenge vs Marc Goodwin. $100 daily beginners freeroll. WPT & WSOP Satellites. SNG Jackpots – Fort Knox, $100,000. Rio, $25,000. Dirty Dozen, $25,000. Maui, $15,000.

USA Poker Software: Although the website promises both 2D and 3D graphics, 2D is currently only available. The software runs very smooth and fast, however it is not very customizable, with no option to turn on or off avatars, or change to four colour decks. The lobby is easy to navigate, and there is a buddy list feature. poker software rating

USA Poker Game Variety: Games offered are Texas Hold’Em, Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo, although the latter two are usually almost empty. They also offer various promotional SNGs, with a chance to win some big cash prizes. poker game variety

USA Poker Fish Factor: Not as fishy as some sites, but generally just weak, passive players make this an easy site to make a buck at. poker fish

USA Poker Bonuses: 100% sign-up bonus to $500, clearable depending on the limit you are playing, and your VIP Level. poker bonuses promotions

USA Poker Freerolls: $100 beginners freeroll, $1,000 Tournament Winners freeroll, $2,000 weekly freeroll.

USA Poker VIP Club / Loyalty Rewards: VIP Club with Silver, Gold and Platinum levels. The more you play, the higher a level you are at. Depending on level, you get exclusive freerolls, bonuses, are eligible for bad beat and high hand jackpots, and the chance to take on USA Poker’s Monte Carlo Millions runner up and Barcelone 2005 Heads Up Circuit finalist Marc Goodwin in a $1,000 heads up challenge. It is refreshing to see a poker room emphasize their VIP Club this strongly, and something that impresses me a lot.

USA Poker Support: USA Poker offer live telephone support and e-mail support. Response times have been average, and support have proven very knowledgeable. poker support

Dealer Dan’s Cash-In: “Their emphasis on the VIP Club is something that impressed me, but the real question is: Does Hacksaw Jim Duggan play here?”
