In a Let It Ride game, three separate wagers are made. There are usually three numbered betting circles, entitled 1, 2 and $, for you to place your bets in. The same amount of chips must be put in each betting circle. So if $50 is placed on betting circle 1, then $50 also has to be placed on betting circle 2 and betting circle $.
Once this is done, each player will receive three cards. This is where the first form of betting comes in. You have the option of pulling out any of your wagers, or “letting them ride”. This is why betting is important in Let It Ride – because the game is based on the betting! If you choose to let it ride, you keep all three bets on the table. If you choose to pull out or not let it ride, you then take back one of your wagers.
Another card is dealt, one of two community cards, at which point you again get the option of Letting It Ride or pulling the bet. The last bet you placed remains on the table at all times, and is generally considered the Let It Ride ante.
Betting in Let It Ride is a lot more important than other games because it is all part of the strategy.
