The game is based on the regular Las Vegas Strip rules, with some notable variations. It is played using six standard size decks that have no jokers. The player is allowed up to three independent hands.

The card values and winning rules remain the same as regular blackjack. A doubled hand can only receive one more card, after which it must stand.

At the beginning of the game, the dealer gives himself one face up card and two face down cards to the player, another major departure from regular blackjack. If the dealer’s card is an ace, the player may take an insurance bet, which protects him from losing his full amount if the next card for the dealer turns results in a blackjack. The dealer must stand on all 17s and hit on all 16s.

European Blackjack (Betsoft) Game Review

The game interface from Betsoft runs seamlessly but it is guilty of being a bit rudimentary in terms of graphics and animations. The buttons and tabs are not very appealing but they are easily legible hence the player knows from the start what each does. The player is allowed to place wagers between $1 and $100 per hand. A regular win pays out at 1:1 and a blackjack yields a 3:2 payout, while the insurance bet pays at 2:1. The game does not have either a side bet or jackpot.
