So, to start with, we’ll write this down on a piece of paper: 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1. This represents the amount of units we want to win. If you wanted to win 20 units, you could either use 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 or you could do 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1, you get the idea. You should have decided how much a unit is ($1/$10/$35 etc) before you begin. We’ll say 1 unit is $1, so we’re trying to win $10.

So, to start with, you have to take the first number in your list and the last number in your list, add them together and that is how many units you are going to bet on your first spin. Since we haven’t won, or lost, were betting 2 units (1+1). Now, this is where the system comes into play.

If the bet wins, remove the number from the start of the list and the number from the end of the list. So you’ll be left with 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1.

If the bet loses, you place the sum of the first and last numbers to the end of the list. So you’ll be left with 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2.

If you win 5 bets in a row from the start, you’ll have crossed off all the 1s on the list and you can take your profits and run. Perfect. Of course, things aren’t always that simple.

Let’s say we lost the first spin and our list now reads: 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2. What we do now is bet 3 units, because the last number on the list is now 2. If this wins, remove the 2 and the 1. If it loses, add a 3 to the end of the list. You continue this procedure until you’ve crossed all the numbers off the list (meaning you’ve hit the target), or you’ve wagered all the money you’re happy to wager in this venture.

Now, that’s the basics out of the way, let’s have a look at what might happen after a few spins of the wheel. Let’s say you have the numbers 8-9-10-11-12-13 left, but you only have 15 units left to bet. Well, you bet the first number on your list, as you don’t have enough to cover the 21 units needed for the 8+13 bet, so you bet 8. If you win, cross off the 8, leaving you with 9-10-11-12-13. You’ll have 23 units, so you’ll be able to bet the 22 units needed for 9+13 bet. You can then go back to the system if you win another bet. But let’s say the 22 unit bet loses. What do you do then? You’re only left with 1 unit.

Well, if you’re left with an amount of units that isn’t enough to even cover the first number, this is what you do: bet that amount and remove it from the first figure. In our example above, we have 1 unit left and the numbers are 9-10-11-12-13-14. If that 1 unit bet wins, the list would read 8-10-11-12-13-14, if it lost, we’d be done with roulette for the moment.

So, what’s the point in this system? Well, it’s a way of managing your bankroll in a game. It can help you stop when you’re winning and is supposed to help limit your losses, as you’ll have decided beforehand how much you’re willing to lose. In reality, it’s just a way of making the betting a bit more fun and perhaps prolong the session instead of using a system like Martingale, which can see you betting the limit of your bankroll rather quickly.

The Cancellation Betting System isn’t designed to help you win. In reality, you will either win the amount you want to win, or lose a lot more than that and the chances are that you will lose, simply because of the house edge.

Like most systems, the amount you bet can start to get out of hand when you start getting bigger numbers into your list and even if you were to win a couple of those big number spins, you probably won’t be near a profit.
